First Week in New York

MAD AIR is thrilled to join forces with SpringBoard Dansè Montreal in a third year of international collaboration. For the past three summers SpringBoard's Artistic Director Alexandra Wells has selected an emerging choreographer to work with a young actor selected by Adler's Artistic Director Tom Oppenheim. The artists work together to create new work. After three weeks they show a version of the piece in Montreal. After an additional three weeks in the Studio a more developed version is show in New York.

Co-creators Lauren Albert, Adam Barruch and Sebastièn Forgues presented a draft of their piece at SpringBoard Dansè Montreal on Friday, July 3rd. This week the trio reconvened with their company in New York to continue the development of their new work. The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and MAD AIR are honored to provide support for the work of this talented trio.

The purpose of this blog is to track the progress of the evolution of the work being created and to give the reader some insight to the creative process. In the subsequent weeks each of the creators will provide a blog entry.

MAD AIR will present new work by Lauren Albert, Adam Barruch and Sebastièn Forgues at the Studio on Wednesday, July 29 at 7pm, Thursday, July 30 at 7pm and Friday, July 31 at 7pm. Tickets are $10. Seating is Limited. Call (212)689-0087 for reservations.
